No Running for Rhett Today!



Minimum days will continue through Friday, March 22nd. Primary will be dismissed at 12:10 PM, intermediate at 12:20 PM, our Thursday dismissal will be at the minimum day times.  Students may eat lunch in the cafeteria but must immediately be picked up or go to their supervised after school program.

Monday – Read My Shirt Day: wear a school appropriate shirt with words

Tuesday – Fox In Socks: wear silly or mismatched socks

Wednesday: Guess Who? dress up as your favorite book character

Thursday: Hats Off To Reading: wear your favorite hat

Friday: Snuggle Up With A Good Book: wear pajamas


Pages Read Contest

The classes that average the most pages read per student will win a party from PTA!

Basketball Game

Come out and cheer on our team!  

We play against OW Erlewine at 4:45 PM at Albert Einstein Middle School.


Scholastic Book Fair is Coming Soon!

Pop Up Art Gallery

Join us on Friday February 8th, from 5:30-7:00 PM in the multipurpose room for PTA Bancroft Pop Up Art Gallery.  The exhibit will feature our talented student artists.  Admission is FREE!  PTA will be scooping ice cream for $2.  Artwork will be available for a suggested $5 donation.  There will also be a raffle for a session of Firefly Art compliments of Dream After School Enrichment.

We have recently received a complaint from a neighbor regarding speeding and reckless driving.  Please be sure to follow all speed limits and laws. watch for cars backing out of driveways and children walking/biking  to school. While we encourage all students to be on time for school a couple of minutes is not worth an accident.

Dress in your favorite Disney attire tomorrow, Friday, January 18th.



There will be no school on Monday, January 21st in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday.


Talent Show

Rehearsals start on Tuesday, January 22nd, 2:15-4:15.  Grand Opening will be on Tuesdays, Grand Middle on Wednesdays, Individual Acts on Thursdays and Grand Finale on Fridays.

Basketball try-outs will be 12/17 and 12/18 after school, for grades 4, 5 and 6.  Students must have turned in, or bring the completed packet from the office to try-outs!

Holiday Program

Joins us the evening of Thursday, December 13th at 5:30 PM in the cafeteria for a special Holiday Program.  There will be singing and music, and PTA will be selling cocoa and treats!  


PTA is in need of your baking (or shopping) skills for the bake sale, donations may be turned into the office on the 12th, or the 13th, by the end of the day. Return the bottom portion of the flyer or go to signup (

Super Turkey Trot – POSTPONED

Due to the poor air quality it has been decided to postpone the Super Turkey Trot. 

 The new dates are to be determined, look for more info soon!


Bancroft School Helps Victims of Camp Fire

This week we are collecting all sizes of new socks, undies and diapers.  Donations may be dropped off to the school cafeteria anytime through Friday, November 16th.  They will be delivered to recovery centers in Chico this weekend.

Spirit Days

October 31st - Students are not allowed to wear costumes to school on Halloween, instead we are doing a Spirit Day!  Students and staff  are asked wear orange and/or black shirts.

November 2nd, Breast Cancer Awareness  - wear pink

November 9th, Tacky Tourist Day - wear your tackiest tourist attire

Box Tops for Education

Turn in your box tops by February 14th either to the classroom or the drop box in the office. Please be sure to put the teacher’s name or room number on the bag.

Lost & Found

Last chance to claim those missing clothes, check the fence around the kindergarten yard. After January 31st all items will be donated to the PTA Clothes Closet.

Open Enrollment

Open Enrollment for Secondary schools will be between January 10th and January 24th, a flyer was sent home with additional info. Go to during those dates to complete the form or for additional information.

6th Grade Parents

If you have not gotten a TDAP shot for your student you MUST have it done prior to them entering 7th grade, they will not be allowed to start school until it is completed!  If you have had it done, please bring/send a copy to the office so we can update the health record.

School Site Council Ballot

Check the backpack for a lavender ballot.  One ballot per family to vote for our new school site council member.  Ballots are due Thursday, September 29th by 4:00 PM in the office.
